Subjugated - Interview 2026

Hello and thanks for chatting with us!!!  Who is this and what do you do in Subjugated?

Hello guys! This is Xabat! Thank you for reaching out and for supporting us!

Subjugated is a band from Basque Country, founded in 2023 with members from bands such as Carnivorous Voracity, Virulency, Putrid Torso and Necrocake among others. Our current line up is: Igor (vox), Oskar (bass), Edgar (drums), and Turbine and Xabat (guitars).

Three of us played together in Carnivorous Voracity and never really stopped. We started composing new songs in 2023 and finished this album in 2024. We had been recording them and preparing for the upcoming dates (TBA). Our first show was on 1st. November 2025, and it was so sick!  Now we're looking forward to the record label to announce album releasing date, and start playing gigs!

The demo track is full of blasting bdm and some slams, is the full-length much different?  What can you tell us about it?

"Impenitence Discipline" is the most representative song you will hear in the whole album, and we are very proud of it! The full length will include eight devastating songs! And yes, we love the intensity of BDM, frenzied and merciless blasts, with some slamming riffs and also brutal growls. Hope you can give us your feedback soon...

How was it working at Ebola room and ESnSE Studios?

We had a few choices but finally we decided to work with the mentioned two.  

It was very easy to record vocals, bass and guitars in Ebola Room Studios. Our singer is the engineer there, so he helped a lot in this process, of course.

In ESnSE Studios you can find working Lampr3a band members ( check them if you like very technical & instrumental music!)It was a pleasure to record with them the drum lines and master the album. We are delighted with the result because all of them are huge professionals and they easily understood what we are looking for. 

So, we highly recommend ESnSE Studios and Ebola Room Studios, for sure.  The album was recorded on final weeks of 2024, and first ones of 2025.

Who is doing the art for the new record?

The artwork is made by Khaos Diktator . He took our ideas and drawed a piece that should be exposed in a museum as an art itself! The artwork was even better that we ever thought! Hope you can see it soon too!

How has it been working with Amputated Vein?

We worked with Masakatsu in the past with Carnivorous Voracity, and we were pleased with how it worked, so it was an easy decision to us. We didn't even look at any other label, to be fair. Masa is a very professional guy to work with, and Amputated Vein Records is a great label with great bands!!!

Who are some of your influences?

We all have a little different influences, but we all like Disavowed, Disgorge, Visceral Disgorge, Cerebral Effusion.

Anything you’d like to say to your fans?

Yes, we would like to thank the ones who supported Brutal Death Metal and Subjugated especially!!  The ones who bought our Merch, attended our shows, or even the ones who are interested in this interview as of course you for the questions itself!!

Noth - 2025 Interview

Every so often I stumble upon something.  Something that catches my by surprise.  Enter: Noth

I really cannot recall how I stumbled upon this demo.  It is only 2 songs but they have fed my cravings for techy, brutality full of creative riffs for months now.  Noth is an international project made up of two powerhouses: Baran from Türkiye, and Florent from Switzerland.  Together these two bring a crazy range of influences to pull from, some bands they are part of, to name a few; Twitch of The Death Nerve, Omnicidal Instinct, Cenotaph, Empyreuma, Kakothanasy, Burial Invocation, Poisoned Dream.  You get the idea. Hello and thanks for answering some questions!  Can you tell us who is in Noth?

Just me (Baran) and Florent Duployer from Kakothanasy

What is the story of how the band started?

Ankara includes lots of Turkish BDM bands and hosts the culture since 1996.  Because it is a deep-rooted culture, I wanted to put another brick in the wall as a new generation musician. In this way, my close friends like Baha (Genorbit), Orkun (Desecrated Ubiquity), Erkin (Meshum and Molested Divinity), Batu and Cihan (Cenotaph) inspired the idea.

Inhomogeneities is crazy!!  What is the band's writing process like?

As a prog music and BDM enjoyer, I am influenced by many bands like Cephalic Carnage, Paroxysm Unit, Encenathrakh, Suffocation and Defeated Sanity also guitar masters like Guthrie Govan and Allan Holdsworth, guided me to progress my musical style. And I started to create the dual guitar riffs, basses and vocals. When the music took its form, I talked with Florent and he nailed the drums on the riffs.

Can we expect some new music soon?

We are planning a huge split with TRDM bands and of course full length Noth album will come.

What things, other than music, influence your art?

Death and rebirth cycle of nature. Astronomy, universal laws, philosophy and surrealist paintings. If you are a good enough observer, you can get inspiration from anything.

If you were stranded on an island, what 3 albums would you take with you?

and What 3 things (not music) would you take with you?

Nylon string guitar, bong and huge telescope. (I trust my surviving skills so I don't think there will be any problems.)

Regurgitated Devourer - Interview 2025

Regurgitated Devourer is a one-man-project out of Gothenburg, Sweden.  Earlier this month, we saw the release of the 2nd full-length from RD, so I asked a few questions to give a little shine on the project!  Enjoy!

Who are we talking with? How are you doing?

Hi! I'm Jens, I've been good, working on a lot of stuff recently

Regurgitated Devourer is just you? is this correct?

Yes, RD is just me, micturator left earlier this year.

How long has the band existed? Can you tell the origin story?

RD originated as Carnage back in 2021, as a goregrind project, before I renamed it because of a band that already existed under that name.                                                                                          In 2022, I changed genres, and created Regurgitated Putridity.  And That project quickly disbanded. 

About 6 months later, I started another project called Insatiable Perversion, but all of the music I recorded for it got Lost.

And in 2023, I started Swathed in Blood, a deathcore band that quickly switched to Slam, and I renamed it to Regurgitated Devourer.

How would you describe the music you make?

I would call it a Mix between classic slam, and 2000s death metal, with some modern finishes.

Who are some of your biggest influences?

my Biggest influences are Abominable Putridity and Analepsy.

Now the new album has been out for a week or so?  are people liking it?  are you pleased with it?

The new album is performing well so far, people seem to like it, and I really am happy with how the production sounds, and it's something I worked very hard on!

Who did the art for the new album?

Lordigan a.k.a Pedro sena! I love his works, and his art also featured on our First LP.

How did working with Fetal Chunk come about?

I posted a story on Instagram asking people if they wanted to be a feature on a song for our new album, the vocalist for Fetal Chunk Deformation messaged me and asked if they could hop on the track.

Ungraceful Interview 2024

Ungraceful is beefy, chunky, groovy riff filled 4th dimensional slam, with untouchably nasty vocals.  A 27 minute journey in a brutal dimension that is rather infectious and addictive.  This two-man group was nice enough to sit down and answer a few questions.  Enjoy!!

 

Thank you for taking the time to answer some questions!  Who do we have the pleasure of speaking with?

Ungraceful is a two-man project.  Jake writing and playing all instruments, Azeraté on the disgusting vocals.  Am I getting that right?  Any other members included in the process?  

Jake: “This is Jake and I’ve sent all your questions to Azerate and will include his answers too. And yes, we’re a 2-man show. “

Speaking of process, what is the Ungraceful writing and recording process like?

Jake: “Typically, I start by setting a tempo and developing a solid riff. Once that’s recorded, I let go mentally, allowing the tempo to drive the process as I continue jamming and see where things naturally evolve. Much of the writing involves thinking, ‘What would sound best next? How do I get there?’- always trying to stay a few steps ahead. 

The transitions between riffs are often more important than the riffs themselves, as I focus on hooks, building momentum and creating climactic moments. Slam is a straightforward genre, which makes it challenging to keep things interesting. Some songs have taken weeks to complete, while others come together in a single day. For example, when I wrote Schizophrenic Machete Assault, I set the tempo at 120 bpm, hit record, and the song’s structure was done in one take. Once you add drums, the creativity really starts to flow, and you often discover ways the guitar can be improved, leading to back-and-forth adjustments. It’s a long, evolving process.”

Azerate:  Unfortunately, we live a distance from each other.  As of now, Jake writes drums, then tracks guitar and bass, exports a demo and forwards it to me. I take time to listen and create a solid mental image before creating any phasing. In some instances I get into a trance state and usually will power through a note of words or phases in one take. As the technicality of the music progresses, with Jakes encouragement, I begin to experiment with laying techniques and variations of vocal styles.

Artificial Aberrations is such a crazy album, already mentioned on online forums and youtube comments as easily one of the best of last year.  Were those songs a long time in the making?  How do you guys feel like it was received?

Jake:  I believe I started writing the first song for that album about a month after the release of "There Is No God Here."

 It wasn’t until about a year and a half later that the full album came out, so it took quite a while. Originally, it was supposed to be another 7-song EP, like the first release. But after connecting with Azerate, we decided to write two brand-new tracks just for fun, unrelated to the EP. Those songs eventually became our 2022 single.

Alex from Inherited Suffering Records reached out after hearing the singles and wanted to plan our next release. 

He suggested we combine the singles with the tracks we had planned for the EP and turn it into a full album. This meant we had to re-record the EP tracks to match the tuning and mix of the singles, and that’s how the album officially came to life. 

Telekinetic DNA Removal was actually written about a week before the album’s release, and we included it to round the project out to nine songs. I knew we had something special but it was definitely still received better than I thought.

Azerate: The album was finished for sometime but revisited after we signed with Inherited Suffering.  In preparation of the release, the entire album was re-recorded and sounded vastly different from its predecessor. The successor is what you all know to be “Artificial Aberrations”. Revisiting them allowed for us to refine our writing and sounds, while pushing the boundaries of our ability. I (azerate), personally feel it was underestimated; which allowed for a greater impact than either of us expected.

I am continually grateful for Inherited Suffering for seeing the diamonds in the rough, and helping build awareness to the general masses. I can say this is one of the most unique projects I have had the pleasure of participating in. Jake is a masterful musician with unmatched skill and creativity.

How did working with Reality Fade come about, and what can you tell us about your upcoming 2nd full-length?  What are your fans in for?

Jake:   Again, we were lucky enough to have them reach out to us. As Azerate would tell me, it was a manifestation. I was talking for some time about wanting to possibly get in with Realityfade due to their community engagement and continued support of their bands also their drip is always sick as fuck. 

As for the next album, I would say there’s a bigger focus on riffs and technicality. I wanted to take all of the great aspects of Artificial Aberrations and turn it up to 11. All of our work so far has been written with the idea in mind that a good drummer could play it. I’ve basically thrown that idea out and now we’re just going full on demon mode. As of me writing this, I’d say we’re about 50% done with the album. 

Azerate:  After convening at the Bronx Zoo in New York city, we went to New Jersey and had our first live practice.  During this time, we had just received merch from Russia and began sharing posts about the releases online.  It was at this time we were contacted directly by Reality Fade. 

The new music is an evolution of the alien sonic captured in our music.  I believe it to be more visceral, suspenseful and off putting.  As we develop as artists and as people; our preferences and taste change too. While I feel that Artificial Aberrations had a more rigid concept in place, this 2nd album is more advanced yet naturally took form.  It’s primal, cold and calculated.  I believe Jake and I’s characters are expressed much more clearly this time around. 

Artificial Aberrations was the sound of us getting a foot in the door, and this next album is us comfortably taking the couch.

How did the name Ungraceful come about?

Jake: Ungraceful started as a social media tag I used for a long time, mainly for my art page on Instagram and a few entrepreneurial ventures that didn’t pan out. 

Over time, it evolved into a regular personal Instagram account, but the name stuck. When I began making music, I was brainstorming for a name, and after searching ‘Ungraceful’ on Spotify and not finding any other artists using it, I decided the ungraceful legacy will keep going. 

Can you name 3 bands that you take influence from?

Jake: I’ve been blasting a lot of Syphilectomy lately. Deprecation is another favorite—another two-man band, but those Russian morherfuckers know how to write a good slam. 

Speaking of, We’ve been compared to Abominable Putridity a few times, which I guess is a compliment. Maybe that’s why Alex reached out. who wouldn’t want to work with the discount version of their favorite brutal death metal bands?”

Can you name a few upcoming bands that we should check out?

Jake:  That’s a better question for Azerate cus I’m a mainstream poser.                             Azerate is a living almanac for the deepest, darkest underground caveman shit.  Also he’s in like 39 bands, check them all out. 

Azerate: Be on the look out for Surgical Abnormalization, Knife Fight, Sumijigoku, and any project featuring Hugo Ojeda.

What is something about you that fans of your music would be surprised to learn?

Jake:  I’m actually just three raccoons in a trench coat, it’s a miracle that we’ve actually made it this far. 

Azerate:  We are just like you. fans of some brutal music who decided to make our own.            To be honest we are both full of surprises, quirks and niches but above all else, Jake doesn’t know he’s black so I constantly call him ni**a to remind him  cause that’s my ni**a”

BLASTFROMTHEPAST - Gortuary - Awakening Pestilent Beings - 2010

 

I love this album! Groovy slams, technically creative riffs, and great guitar solos! Guitarist is none-other-than Andres Guzman of Cephalotripsy and Sobek fame.  The vocals on this record, and the next, are also amazing. With 8 songs, clocking in at about 20 minutes, this leaves you wanting more!

The band's last album, "Divine Indigenous Sacrament," was released over 5 years ago. I think the band is still together, but have seen no action! Gortuary I miss you!

Gortuary is a wonderful brutal death metal band that just needs to get back at it! 

Desecation - Left To The Trogs - 2024

 Desecation first caught my attention for being so young while still pumping out such a mature sounding brutal death EP two years ago with self-titled "Desecation", which I briefly talked about HERE.

Since then, just following them on social media and their youtube presence, it is clear that they are young but taking this very serious and being themselves, not trying to change anything about what they bring to the table.  Being original with their sound.  

Also, they are surrounded by and playing shows with legends like Cephalotripsy, Disgorge, Vulnificus, Condemned and many more.

When they started to give previews and glimpses of this new album, I was beyond pumped, and now I get to sit down and listen.

"Left To The Trogs" opens with a disturbing sample that I recognized from a long time ago.  From a scene that definitely stays with you if you ever saw it.  It is from a Kurt Russell movie about 10 years ago, called "Bone Tomahawk."  A scene in which a man is help down and scalped and then held upside down and hawked in two.  It's just lovely! Check the scene out HERE.

The audio from this scene perfectly sets the tone for the next 20 minutes.  An unforgiving onslaught of raw, original BDM with each element of the music getting its proper showcase.  Production is clear yet perfectly raw. 

Guitars are a delightful mix of fuzzy and crunchy, musicianship is tight and steadily marching to and from heavy slams and catchy riffs.  The riffs seem slightly more technical here than on "Desecation".  Excited to watch how this young band keeps growing and progressing.    

Vocals throughout this album are diverse.  Nasty gargling gutturals with the occasional pig squealing and sometimes your basic death growl.  Every method done with confidence and a gravely delivery that sounds well-honed.   Drummer is crazy, detailed fills with a lot going on under the surface.

I have been paying attention to Desecation since I first found them.  A decent amount of live footage is already on youtube and they have that "thing."  They just feel like the complete package.  Hoping to catch them live soon.  Check out a video of the band performing at Angel Ochoa's (Cephalotripsy) Birthday party:

Celestial Bifurcation - Mephistophelian Dimension - DEMO 2023

 

Jumping right back into technical BDM with the slams to boot, Celestial Bifurcation is a two-piece out of Washington that is one of the recent signings of New Standard Elite, a record label that is quickly becoming THE home of new up-and-coming brutal slammy death metal.

The band's name roughly translates to being ripped in two in outer space.  This is actually a good description of the vibe here.  Please give this multiple listens, there is so much nuance and detail that these two dudes bring to the table, and it really excites me for a full-length release.

Not long after this demo, they put out a single through Inherited Production.

"Insufferable Telekinetic Disimpaction" boasts tighter playing from both musicians, a similar production value, and is a 3-minute foreshadowing of technical grooviness to come. Listen below:

Derogation- Revival Of A Nest Ignorant - 2013 Permeated Records

On September 30th, 2013, Derogation's "Revival Of A Nest Ignorant" will be unleashed upon the world.  For a release this short, it is really full of awesome and memorable parts.  I am a huge fan already.

Kiev, Ukraine's Derogation come at you with a riffing style similar to Defeated Sanity and a technical prowess that begs many listens; super technical sweeping and tapping parts that teeter on the edge of too much.  It's just really just good writing though.
Some of the all over the place riffs, the beginning of "Abhorrent Fornication" for example, takes me back to the old days when Decrepit Birth were still awesome and original.

Ex Defeated Sanity vocalist Jens Cannibaloki Staschel has found a wonderful new home in Derogation.  His familiar vocals do a really nice job of keeping things creative and disgusting.  The god behind the guitar is Vlad Melnik (Neurogenic, Back Door To Asylum), perfectly partnered up with bassist Alexander Chub (Hedonistic Exility).  The bass tone is wonderfully warm throughout and this guy can really play.  Lev Kurgansky (Ezophagothomia) hold things down behind the drums with blasts and tight fills that ensure to keep your attention.  

You get 5 tracks in total.  The last song is a cover and the second to last is just atmospheric noise.  When all is said and done you end up with around 10 minutes of original material from Derogation, but it's the most technically proficient brutal death metal I've heard in a very long time.

My only complaint is the length of this album.  We can only hope there is much more of this on the way, and soon!
