Hello and thank you for answering some questions! CHAMA!!!
First of all, how are you doing?
Hey! Thanks for having us, I’m doing good, thanks.
Right now it’s me (Oskari) on guitar and vocals and my good friend (Pyry) on bass. Our drummer left the band right after the release of ”Engulfed in Abominable Decomposition”.
How did Cranial Disfigurement get started?
Cranial started as a solo project by me in 2025 with programmed drums. In early 2026, I asked Elias to join as our drummer after our previous band split up.
"Engulfed In Abominable Decomposition" is easily one the year's best demos and grabbed my attention immediately! The drums are insane and groovy and creative and original. How has the reception of the demo been for you guys? Are you hearing good things?
Yes, thanks! I’ve heard a lot of positive feedback on our demo, and I appreciate everyone who’s been listening to it.
Most of the songs are done by me with programmed drums in my bedroom. Our songs also don’t contain any actual lyrics.
What is the scene like in Lahti?
The scene is really small, but there are some good death metal bands in Lahti.
Lahti seems to be known for ski jumping and winter sports, are either of you into winter sports?
I am not originally from Lahti myself. Personally I despise winter sports.
What are some things you are into beside music?
Besides music, I like watching horror movies, hanging out with my friends and drinking alcohol.
Who or what inspires you?
Some of my biggest influences for Cranial are Devourment, Disgorge (California), Regurgitated Entrails, Torsofuck, Brodequin and Putridity.
What is one thing about you that might surprise us?
I also have a second band called Godless Bloom, a gothic death metal band, and we’re planning to start recording our debut release soon.
How soon can fans expect more music?!
I’ve been writing some new material for Cranial. Right now, I’m trying to find a new drummer so that we can start recording our next release and possibly play some gigs.
