Vaginality - Interview 2026

Hey guys what up how's it going?!?!?

We're doing great, we've got an upcoming full length this month and maybe some more material coming soon.

Can you list all the members of Vaginality and what they do in the band?

David is the guitarist who writes songs along with our drummer Vibor, Marin is the vocalist who also writes the lyrics and Teo plays bass.

How did you guys land on the name Vaginality?

We had an idea of making a band more extreme than any young local band here in Zagreb but we lacked inspiration. At the beginning of 2025. Putrid Pile, Disgorge and Defeated Sanity performed in Zagreb and that's when we decided we wanted to do what those guys were doing. The name Vaginality was decided by Marin and David inspired by juvenile Gorgasm song titles.

Your demo earlier this year grabbed my attention. I love the nasty title and song titles and layout on the cover!

Now you have a full-length album coming out in a few days, will "Suffocating in Gastric Filth" follow a similar format with disgusting song titles?  How long is the album?  What is on the cover?  Is that a beautiful river of gastric filth I see?  Please tell us everything you can!!

Our demo came out shortly after our debut gig in Zagreb when our buddy Fran gave us the opportunity to record at his home studio. That tremendously helped us get some recognition which we otherwise wouldn't get since people here barely know what brutal death metal is. Even though we're not happy with how sloppy some of the songs on the demo were played, it opened some big doors for us, for example our signing to Reality Fade Records under which we did our upcoming album.

Our demo was more groove based but we decided we wanted to do something more technical and play some of the demo songs the way we imagined them on the album. The cover was done by Reality Fade and it came out very old school looking which fits our old school influence. It pictures thorns coming out from the ground puncturing diced up human remains with a river of viscera flowing in-between them. The album is on the shorter side only being 20 minutes long with more technical material than on the demo and even sicker slams.

How did your relationship with Reality Fade begin and how is it going?

Reality Fade was our main merch store because they're one of the best ones here in Europe so all of us kept up with their announcements on social media. One day they announced that they were signing young bands on Instagram and with our recently recorded demo we took the chance to present our material and maybe get a signing opportunity. They said they'd gladly help us out and that they liked the material we sent. They helped us record our album, mix it and soon publish it.

Who made the Vaginality logo?

All the versions of our logo were made by our vocalist Marin with the current one being the one we stuck with. It was inspired by the Matti Way and Diego Sanchez side project Obscured Secretions logo.

Who are some of your favorite bands and inspirations?

As I said, we're heavily inspired by Disorge and Defeated Sanity. The lyrics are mostly similar in style to the lyrics from MTD by Devourment and the vocals (at least on the album) are inspired by Angel from Cephalotripsy and Wayne from Devourment. Some other bands we look up to and enjoy are Putridity, Orchidectomy, Heinous Killings, Digested Flesh and even some of the newer bands like Virologist and Submerged.

Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions!!!!!  We cannot wait for September 12th!!!!!

Anything else you’d like to say???

Thank you for this interview and thanks to all the people who helped us up to this point, especially Fran from Gutswamp, the Reality Fade team, our friends from Eeyore and, of course, all the people who've been listening to the music we put out. We're also very stoked about the album and truly hope people will enjoy it! Thanks again for the interview and listening to Vaginality!
