Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to do this! Let's start with who we are talking to and what you do in the band?
Could you list the members of Voracious Contempt and their ages?
SAM/WADEN/RICO (Voracious Contempt Drummer and Guitarists) -
Yo! You’re talking to Sam(20, drums) , Waden(20, Guitar) and Ricco (18, Guitar ) , the rest of our lineup consists of Nate (21, bass) and Adrian ( 17 , Vocals )
As the band name suggests, you guys are big Internal Bleeding fans? Can you tell us a little bit about how you got into older BDM and what other bands influence your sound?
Your new ep "Exquisite Suffering" is my favorite ep in a long time. It feels like it is straight out of the 90s. Can you talk a little about your writing process, and how you guys come up with these killer riffs?
When Voracious started , there’s wasn’t anyone doing that 90’s NYDM style and we really wanted to capitalize on that and make something that captured sounds of all our favorite NYDM bands and do it in a more Texas way
When we wrote “Slammed and Screwed” and “Exquisite Suffering” the process was heavily based on just getting together to jam . Now it’s a more of a joint effort before we even get to jam a song , all contributing riffs and ideas with Waden bringing it all together .
Also the new artwork is amazing! i've already preordered a package from brutal mind! who did the artwork?
The artwork was done by Ricky Pile (Pileworm_art) , absolutely nailed the style we were going for.
"Slammed and Screwed" was my introduction to you guys. Some of sounds and vibes on the song Uncontrollable reminded me old school brutal death, and I fell in love. It doesn't seem like your sound has drastically changed since the demo. Would you agree?
what does Eigengrau mean? That song is the only one where the lyrics are close to a love song <3
Eigengrau is the dark gray or black in the absence of light, the song is about losing a loved one. The metaphor for it is, the gray in a way is your grieving and coping with the loss, and the light is the loved one. Grieving from the absence of your loved one

Does the band share lyrical duties? or is it just one of you? How seriously is it taken?
Lyrics are handle by Adrian(vocals) mostly however if he needs some help with an idea we are all there to support him. On the song “crawling through delirium” Ricco and Sam helped write the back half , we make sure to take our time lyrical to get something we are all happy with and more importantly Adrian.
Can you name any upcoming bands from your area that we should watch for?
Lots of amazing bands in the Texas scene , we are very fortunate to be in a city and state with so much underrated talent like a Mankind, Endless Decay, Dysmorphia, Primal Descent .
Can you tell us some music that the members of voracious contempt are into that may surprise people?
There’s a lot we listen to that might surprise you, Marvin Gaye , Cindy Lauper , Tribe called quest , David Bowie , Modest Mouse , Journey , Men at Work , Masayoshi Takanaka, Fleetwood Mac , the cranberries to name handful .
